About Joanne Thomas, B.ArtsSc., LL.B., AMP
Joanne Thomas entered the mortgage lending business with already many years experience working as lawyer. As a solicitor, Joanne spent much of her time working in the area of real estate law.
After graduating from Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto, Joanne began her legal career with Edwards, Kenny & Bray, in downtown Vancouver. Thereafter she worked as a solicitor as Maxwell, Schuman and Company. Joanne remained a member of the Law Society of British Columbia until 2004 when she entered the industry as a mortgage specialist assisting clients in obtaining the financing to meets their needs.
Joanne attended McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario where she received her Bachelor of Arts and Science, summa cum laude, with a combined Honours degree in Economics. Joanne also had an accomplished synchronized swimming career where she competed for almost a decade at the national level and won many medals both provincially and nationally.
Joanne is married, a mother of three and is an active member of the community. Joanne is a mortgage broker working with Dominion Lending Centres Commercial Capital Inc., a fully diversified mortgage banking company specializing in both residential and commercial mortgages. As a mortgage specialist Joanne has earned the designation of an Accredited Mortgage Professional granted by the Canadian Association of Accredited Mortgage Professionals.
